I’m in one of those patches in my life where the writing just isn’t happening. “Sometimes you’ll have that,” I can hear one of my friends saying. I have some natal studies in the works but nothing ready to serve out of the pot for a while yet.
In the meantime, I have a little music to share with you. Having a music-loving teenager in my house means I get to hear all the latest stuff, and I like a lot of it! Here are two songs from among my daughter’s favorites right now. The two go as a pair of opposites in my mind, astrologically speaking: an IC sort of song and an MC sort of song, respectively. Let’s see if you agree.
I’ll start with the IC (Imun Coeli) song, as it’s just too utterly sad to end with. The IC, as you likely know, is the bottommost part of the chart: the cusp of House 4. From the perspective of Primary Motion, it doesn’t get any lower than the IC. At the same time, when you’re at rock bottom, the only place you can go is up! The IC is to the astrological chart as the Winter Solstice is to the solar year.
Here it is, “A Great Big World & Christine Aguilera – Say Something.” Prepare for it--

Now for the MC (Medium Coeli) song, “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons. I wonder, though I don’t know, if this song is about the group’s recent rise to fame. It certainly could be! Sweet success, the attainment of a long-sought goal: that’s MC material. As the cusp of House 10, the MC is to the astrological chart what the Summer Solstice is to the solar year—the peak! Once at the top, though, the only place one can go is down, just as after Midsummer the hours of daylight slowly begin to wane. But let’s not think about that right now! :)
Enjoy the view from the top, then, with this light and fun tune:

If you haven't already, consider listening to the songs without the videos at least once so that you can fully appreciate the music itself.
